Sarah King is the Intermediates Ministry Leader at Manukau City Baptist Church in South Auckland.

We had an incredible time at eCamp this year with Manukau City Baptist Church. It’s such an awesome camp, and it continues to be a highlight our youth eagerly look forward to every year.

Intermediates are an amazing age group to work with; I’m blessed to walk alongside these young people on their journey with God. This year, one of our youth spoke on stage about his time living in Bangladesh and how that has affected his faith. But I think the best part about this was hearing that he didn’t really want to speak on stage, but he knew that God wanted him to, so he did it anyway. It’s so encouraging to hear about the times when our intermediates are hearing from God and choosing to be obedient.

I was also honoured to pray with some of our girls and be with five of them as they invited Jesus into their hearts and to be the Lord of their lives. There was even a point where I thought that one of our girls might choose to give her heart to God in the hot pool! Intermediates are so ready for God, and God is moving! I love to see it!

It’s why I’m also so excited for another great event we have coming up: FOLLOW Intermediates Conference. At Manukau City Baptist Church, we’re privileged to work with Grace Vineyard and host this one-day conference for Year 7 to 9 students from across the North Island and from different denominations. It’s a day of worship, talks, games, and food. It’s all about how we live out a life following Jesus. Last year was such a hit, and it was inspiring to see intermediates ministering to each other and leading worship. So, we’re doing it again: Saturday, August 2nd, 9:30 am-3:30 pm.
